temp - HR Generalist - 3 months to start, could convert to full-time employee

Seattle, WA - on-site, Monday - Friday

About the Role:

The HR Generalist oversees daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and support for payroll, benefits, and leave. This role ensures alignment with employment laws and organization's mission-driven values, with a focus on culturally responsive practices.





Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding
  • Maintain personnel records and HRIS systems
  • Support payroll, benefits, and leave administration
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies
  • Assist with employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions
  • Facilitate training, recognition, and morale-building initiatives
  • Monitor HR trends and recommend best practices





Qualifications


  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Bachelor's degree or HR certificate
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
  • Commitment to organization's mission and cultural responsiveness
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years HR experience
  • Advanced degree in HR, OD, psychology, or related field
  • Experience in nonprofit or community-based organization
