Location: Anacortes, WA

We're seeking an experienced Controller to take ownership of our accounting operations and play a pivotal role in the financial health of our growing organization. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings both technical expertise and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
•Lead accounting functions: Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost & Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition
•Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance reports for leadership
•Oversee monthly financial statements and regulatory reporting
•Collaborate with Project Managers on bonding, insurance, and contracts
•Review monthly job cost reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards
•Coordinate with external accounting firms and resolve technical accounting issues
•Manage month end/year end close processes with quality control over reporting
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting/tax filings
•Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
•Mentor and support operations staff on process implementation

Qualifications
•Proven experience as a Financial Controller
•Advanced degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CMA preferred)
•7+ years progressive accounting experience
•Expertise in job cost accounting & financial reporting
•Knowledge of WA State & Federal Accounting Principles (including Prevailing Wages)
•Understanding of commercial insurance policies
•Proficient with accounting software;strong administration skills
