Recruiter - temporary with possible conversion to Full-Time Employee

SeaTac, WA - on-site

Position Summary

The recruiter is responsible for managing and coordinating comprehensive recruitment and selection processes across the organization. This role partners with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, assess staffing needs, and execute strategic hiring initiatives. The position also provides expert guidance on job audits, tuition reimbursement, and employee training and development programs.



Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Selection
  • Conduct intake assessments and collaborate with hiring managers to refine job descriptions and requirements.
  • Prepare and advertise job announcements, complete card sorts and candidate assessments.
  • Design and administer examinations including written tests, phone screens, practical exams, and interview questions.
  • Coordinate and/or serve on interview panels, screen and score applications.
  • Lead candidate selection processes and provide consultative support throughout.

HR Advisory & Program Support
  • Advise departments on recruitment strategies, job audits, tuition reimbursement policies, and employee development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with municipal policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable federal/state/local laws.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge Of:
  • Municipal government structure, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Wage and salary administration, compensation surveys, and HR best practices.
  • Recruitment and selection methodologies, including NEOGOV Recruit and Onboard.
  • Legal requirements and technical record-keeping in HR operations.

Skill In:
  • Conducting job audits and classification studies.
  • Interviewing techniques and candidate evaluation.
  • Research, data analysis, and statistical interpretation.
  • Proofreading and editing HR documentation and policies.
  • Advising departments on talent acquisition and classification matters.

Ability To:
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Interpret and apply complex rules, contracts, and policies.
  • Build trust and effective working relationships across all levels.
  • Prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines despite interruptions.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in team settings.



Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible HR experience in recruitment, classification/compensation, or related areas.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • At least one full year of full-cycle recruiting experience in the public sector.



Working Conditions
  • Office-based with extensive computer use.
  • Physical demands include sitting/standing for extended periods, keyboard use, and verbal communication.
