Job Description

Marine Organization needs an International Tax Manager!

Responsibilities:
  • Review and manage all aspects of U.S. International income tax compliance for all foreign entities, Subpart F, E&P, tax pools, section 987, ODL/OFL accounts, and foreign tax credits calculations
  • Dividends and foreign tax credits and planning for sales and flotation
  • Assist in various international tax planning projects (e.G., foreign tax credit usage optimization, Subpart F minimization strategies, income sourcing & characterization, PE analysis, legal entity structuring)
  • Participate in various international tax planning projects (e.G., foreign tax credit usage optimization, Subpart F minimization strategies, income sourcing & characterization, PE analysis, legal entity structuring, intercompany netting policy)
  • Manage and monitor the maintenance of records for withholding tax or other taxes related to international operations to ensure foreign tax credits are reported accurately and timely
  • Prepare/review companies' corporate federal and state income tax returns and provisions in accordance with ASC 740
  • Prepare and review Forms 5471, 8865 and 8858 in relation to non-US subsidiaries and activities
  • Gather data for purposes of U.S. Information reporting with regard to CFCs, CFPs and minority investments
  • Researching and writing technical memoranda on a variety of complex international tax issues
  • Developing planning ideas for clients

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
  • CPA and/or LLM, Masters in Taxation preferred.
  • 5-7 years of tax work experience (preferably including time at a Big 4 firm), with minimum 4 years international tax compliance experience required.
  • Highly effective organizational, analytical, data-management, inter-personal and communications skills.
  • Highly motivated and ability to handle workload and competing priorities independently.
  • Strong technology skills including Excel and ability to learn tax preparation software.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in tax compliance.
  • Involvement in working with team members across geographies, collaborating and building relationships with stakeholders in financial and legal functions.
  • Experience with inbound and outbound transactions, foreign tax credit utilization, and tax minimization.
  • Candidate must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills including use of pivot tables, lookups, sumif, and data manipulation. Experience with excel macros, visual basic, power BI, Alteryx, python database is a plus.
